No WGW Knit & Natter - Saturday 7th September 2024 at the Barleycorn Inn
Crochet is an ancient craft and can be used to create a wide variety of fabric textures ranging from a dense hard-wearing one, to a fine lacy one, depending on the hook size and the weight of yarn being used. Crochet is surprisingly quick to create, especially when using larger hooks and thicker yarns. It has many uses and may be employed as a beautiful finishing technique for knitted and even sewn garments, i.e., to create a decorative edge for sleeves and neck openings and for joining seams.
Although out of fashion for many years, crochet is back in fashion, on the high-street, on the cat-walks and in use by the most chic interior designers when they stage their rooms! Crochet is now one of the most popular home crafts and can be used to create beautiful fashion garments, and soft furnishings such as cushion covers, throws, baskets and blankets. Finally, the past two years has seen an astronomic rise in the number of Amigurumi patterns for soft toys being crocheted by hundreds of thousands of people each week.
Our courses are designed to give novices a helping hand into the wonderful world of crochet and to help them grow and develop their skills in whatever direction they choose.
