If you hate waste in all its forms, love beautifully made wooden furniture of any age, or would like to repurpose other wooden items into something new, then you have come to the right place!

I was given a rather old and dilapidated 'tall-boy'  in 2017 by a family member.  A Victorian piece that had seen better days and had stood for the last ten years or so in the back of a garage.  This piece was too nice to be relegated to the machine shop to hold tools for the tractors as was intended to I decided to try and restore it!

My only experience of woodwork was at school, when we studied it for a term, making pencil cases and coat pegs..... a very long time ago.  However, I went on-line, watched lots and lots of videos, attended a couple of basic wood working courses locally and set about refurbishing this 'family heirloom'.  After what felt like forever I finally managed to save this wonderful piece, which now holds pride of place in our bedroom.

Now I take unloved pieces of furniture and try to breath new life into them.  I find pieces all over the place, from charity shops, private sales, auctions, and even sometimes pieces left by the road side with 'free to take away' signs on.

Sometimes I can restore pieces, sometimes I can repurpose them. But whatever I do, I always try to save old pieces from ending up on the rubbish heap or as kindling for log fires.
