No WGW Knit & Natter - Saturday 7th September 2024 at the Barleycorn Inn
Knitting is an ancient handicraft and has had multiple parallel lines of evolution which have created unique regional styles, from Norway to Guernsey, Aran and Fair Isle to Russia. Hand knitting can create a wide variety of fabrics, with different textures and densities ranging from robust ones, sturdy enough to be used by fishermen and skiers to lacey ones used for hi-fashion garments and soft durable ones used for babies clothing and toys.
The knitted effect can vary widely due to the knitting technique used: i.e., Fair Isle, Entrelac, Aran, Brioche etc., Knitting can be used to create hi-fashion and every-day garments, household furnishings and even jewellery.
Our courses are designed to give novices a helping hand into the wonderful world of knitting and to help them grow and develop their skills in whatever direction they choose.
